UCI Administrative & Business Services

Dear Colleagues,

As many of you know from the Chancellor and Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor's message yesterday, the offices of Planning & Budget and Administrative & Business Services merged to form the Division of Finance & Administration. This is an exciting opportunity as it formally brings together units that already collaborate and further allows us to leverage many infrastructure and investment opportunities.

Complete integration of our two groups will take time, commitment, and the active involvement of employees at all levels of the organization. Many of us have already worked together across offices to partner on initiatives that further the mission of the university. The creation of Finance & Administration is yet another opportunity for collaboration and identifying the best ways to work together to serve the faculty, staff, and students of UCI.

In the weeks and months ahead, I will be meeting with many of you, gathering information, and finalizing the integration of our two divisions. I look forward to meeting with the entire division at our next Town Hall on April 18. In the meantime, a transition webpage has been created to offer timely updates and answers to frequently asked questions.

Thank you in advance for your dedication and support. I am confident that with your help, we can successfully transition to one consolidated group and serve as a catalyst for fulfilling our part in UCI's ambitious goals outlined in our strategic plan.

With appreciation,

Ronald S. Cortez, JD, MA
Chief Financial Officer
Vice Chancellor, Division of Finance and Administration
